Paralympics
The Paralympics start in Rio soon. This morning we watched this video clip introducing the games and we were amazed by what these athletes can do.
Who knew you could play a guitar and the drums with your feet. AMAZING.
We reflected on the clip and thought about what we could learn from these amazing people. Their disability does not slow them down at all.

Holly Robinson will carry the flag for NZ at the Paralympics Opening ceremony.

Meg's REAL Challenges
On April 3.4.2016 at Addington Showgrounds. I competed in the muddy good run with Holly and Matilda .Matilda's mum took me and got us all matching minion outfits so we all looked the same. I enjoyed this because we got to get muddy. I would definitely recommend it for others who love getting out and into it. I would definitely do it again.

The Olympic Games - Then and Now
The Olympics as we know them today came from very ancient beginnings. So just where did they all start? Enjoy viewing the Youtube below to find out about the origins of the Olympic Games and how they all began. As you watch and listen, make connections to what you know and understand about the Olympic Games today.
Perhaps you could consider creating a table listing the characteristics of the ancient Olympics and the modern Olympics so that you can then begin to compare (identify the things that are similar) and contrast (identify the things that are different) the two.
