Bucket Filling
A bucket filler is a loving, caring person who says or does nice things that make other feel special. When you make someone feel special, you are filling a bucket.

XX1 Commonwealth Games 2018
We have meet the Commonwealth Games mascot, Borobi.
We have also been learning his special dance.
We even found a video that shows two girls doing the Borobi boogie at a slower pace. Watch this to help you practice.

Decimal Numbers
We have starting looking at and learning about decimal numbers.
Decimals are based on 10
Example: the numbers we use in everyday life are decimal numbers, because they are based on 10 digits (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9).
"Decimal number" is often used to mean a number that uses a decimal point followed by digits that show a value smaller than one.

The decimal point goes between Ones and Tenths.
45.6 has 4 Tens, 5 Ones and 6 Tenths, like this:

Kelly Sports
On Friday the 8th of December Kelly Sports came in and ran sports rotations for us. We had such a great time and really enjoy their water relay!

Oderings School Garden Project
This year Oderings have decided to fund a trial programme that gets children involved in gardening.
We are lucky enough to be one of the ten schools involved.
Each month an Oderings staff member and Christchurch Horticultural Society member come out to our school and take a small lesson on their planned topic. They also supply us with plants and any materials needed.
This months topic was pollination. We learnt about leafcutter bees and how they help with pollination.
