Folk Dancing Evening

It was wonderful to see so many whanau members at our school hall on Wednesday night supporting our students as they performed a range of folk dances.

Whanau members join in Carnavalito!

Meikayla Moore (ex Burwood School student)

This morning (Wednesday 7th September) Ōtākaro Studio was lucky enough to have Meikayla Moore from the New Zealand Football Ferns visit.

We welcomed Meikayla by singing 'Tihore Mai'.

Meikayla shared about her experiences of the Rio Olympics and the hard work she has put into pursuing her dream.

She even signed some of our things!

A group of children were chosen to have a mini skills session with Meikayla.

Holly and Zoe thanked Meikayla for coming and sharing her experiences with us.

A huge thank you to Meikayla for taking the time to speak with us. Everyone was truly inspired. We would also like to thank Mrs Forbes-Henry for organising the visit.

Ōtākaro Discoveries Museum

Take time to visit each of our Animalia Exhibition Halls to open the doors to some of the most extraordinary creatures you have ever seen or heard of!  Even scientists are baffled by what you are about to see.

Get close to creatures that are so absurd.  Is it a reptile?  Is it a bird?  Is it a mollusc, an insect, an amphibian?  Who would know?  Click on each exhibit to look at the details more closely and to read about it.

After viewing them, maybe you could shed some light on these mysteries.  We'd appreciate your thinking and feedback about our learning.
